How do I block inappropriate image searches? |

The R3000 has the ability to force users to use Yahoo and Google "safe-search" modes when they conduct image searches, even if they try to disable safe-search locally in the search engines' options page. You can enable the "Google/Yahoo Safe Search Enforcement" feature in the Filtering Options in all profiles. At this time, the R3000 cannot enforce safe-search mode for any other search engines, aside from Yahoo and Google. To overcome this, some of our customers have chosen to block access to certain search engines--or even to block access to all search engines except Yahoo and Google. You can further enhance the safety of image searches by enabling URL Keyword Filter Control; again, available in the Filtering Options in all profiles. Once the option has been enabled, you can add URL keywords to any blocked category. By default, keyword lists are empty, so you must add your own list of keywords. If one of your keywords appears in the URL string, the user's request will get blocked. |
