Can I use Override Accounts with LDAP authentication?

Print E-mail
If you're using LDAP authentication, you can still use override accounts. Let's suppose that an LDAP-authenticated user gets blocked (and you're using the R3000's default block page) the user can select "Click here for further options" and then log into his or her Override Account. The profile associated with the Override Account will now take precedence over the LDAP profile. Please note that Override Accounts are associated with the user's IP address, for as long as the Java applet remains open. This is why we generally don't recommend using Override Accounts if you have many users hiding behind a single IP address, as is the case with NAT.
