Securing the Network against Web-based Proxies

Image8e6 Proxy Blocker Datasheet | Image8e6 ProxyBlocker Datasheet EDU

The new 8e6 ProxyBlocker appliance is specifically designed for schools and organizations not using 8e6 filtering solution. The ProxyBlocker utilizes "Proxy Pattern Detection," a unique signature-based technology, to detect and block Web-based proxies/anonymizers. In addition, it also blocks peer-to-peer and instant messaging applications.

Proxy Problem The ProxyBlocker catches requests for anonymous proxies on the fly, offering continual, real-time protection. Additionally, the ProxyBlocker identifies attempts to set up proxy tunnels; prevents these connections from being made; keeps a record of the number of times a user tries to circumvent the filter; and if enabled, denies Internet access to users in violation of an organization's Acceptable Use Policy.
