Internet Security Veteran to Lead the Expansion of 8e6’s Product Line

Orange, Calif. – February 27, 2006 – 8e6 Technologies, a security company dedicated to Internet filtering and reporting, today announced the addition of Gary Ulaner as director of product management. A former group product manager at Symantec Corporation, Ulaner brings both extensive knowledge of Internet security and deep product management experience to his new role. In this position, Ulaner will be responsible for management of 8e6 Technologies’ current Internet filtering and reporting products and will lead the expansion of 8e6’s product roadmap.

Ulaner joins 8e6 Technologies from Symantec Corporation, where as group product manager he successfully managed the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate and Enterprise product lines and dramatically increased revenue from $25M per quarter in 1999 to $150M in 2004. Prior to Symantec Corporation, Ulaner held the position of director of product management for Quarterdeck Corporation, where he launched and managed its multimillion dollar retail helpware solutions business while working extensively with retail buyers, VARs, and the media and analyst communities to develop effective marketing and implementation strategies. Ulaner also served as general manager for Austin-Hayne Corporation’s employee appraisal software product line and has held additional product management and marketing roles within Symantec Corporation and Peter Norton Computing in the United States and Europe.
