No Hidden Charges for Spyware, P2P and Instant Message Protection

ORANGE, CA, November 1, 2004 – 8e6 Technologies, a leading supplier of Internet Filtering and Reporting Appliances, announces a new pricing model, effective November 1, 2004. The company is moving to a straightforward, all-inclusive “appliance plus per seat” model.

8e6’s all-in-one subscription price includes many items that are an ‘extra charge’ from some competitive filtering vendors. These items include:

• Instant message blocking by users and groups
  
• “Peer-to-Peer” (P2P) blocking by users and groups
  
• Security protection (spyware safety measure, malicious code site security and Phishing guard)
  
• Bandwidth preservation tools (streaming media, Internet radio and video)
  
• Productivity protection (message boards and clubs, online advertising)
  

8e6 continues its “Lower Total Cost of Ownership” approach typically not seen in the industry. “We continue to listen to both our customers and channel partners in improving our product delivery.” said Jared Thorkelson, 8e6’s Vice President of Sales. “Both parties tell us they want simple, clear-cut pricing that provides value.”

The new pricing model has one pricing schedule for filtering subscriptions on a per-seat basis. That schedule will apply to all 8e6 filtering products and covers both new business and renewals. Filtering subscription prices range from the low $20 range per seat for the smallest accounts, down to $4 per seat at higher volumes. 8e6’s line of Internet Filtering and Reporting appliances will be priced separately from the filtering subscription.
