8e6’s New Messaging: Managing The Threat From Within
8e6 has just announced a shift in perspective on market needs in alignment with the changing dynamics of customer issues. This perspective will drive the company’s activities from product development and corporate communications through value-added customer services as a proactive leader in Internet security solutions. Although perimeter security threats such as hackers and worms have long dominated the world of Internet threats, new challenges such as internal user management have risen to the forefront of the battle. 8e6 has seen the battle moving to the threat from within, generated through e-mail, surfing, IM and P2P, and has effectively combated internal threats with our dynamic monitoring, reporting and remediation products. 8e6’s China Market Initiative
8e6 is proud to announce our formal entry into the rapidly growing and dynamic China market with the opening of an office in Beijing to complement its existing office in Taipei. The two offices will now become our Greater China Division (GCD), which will have an immediate staffing level of more than 20 employees. The creation of the new GCD is in response to strong interest on the part of both educational institutions and business enterprises in China. “This is a very significant step for us after watching this emerging market for our products for some time, along with other areas, such as Russia, Brazil and India,“ stated George Shih, CEO of 8e6 Technologies. “With an estimated 100 million regular Internet users in China, we see the potential market there surpassing that of the U.S. in three to five years.” Read more>>
From all of us at California headquarters, a great big welcome to 8e6’s Greater China staff!

Ask the Expert: Ross Miedecke, Sales Engineer
Q: How can I track the changes administrators make on the R3000 Management Interface?
A: The new R3000 1.7 version keeps an Admin Audit Trail just for this purpose. The Admin Audit trail will display who has logged into the R3000 and display every change they have made while navigating through the GUI. For your convenience, 8e6 offers you the option of reviewing it in real time or downloading to your own workstation. This feature can be found in the menu under System, Diagnostics, Admin Audit Trail.

PROFILE:
Name: Jane DeFrank
Title: Office Manager/HR & Administrative Assistant
Hobbies: Jane, also known as "DAWITCH" on her license plate, loves Halloween and has dressed up as a witch every Halloween since she was a little girl. On Angels Opening Day, however, she dressed up as the Rally Monkey.
If you have attended an 8e6 Laguna Beach event, then you have experienced first hand Jane DeFrank’s hard work into putting together a fantastic 8e6 event. From holiday office parties to customer events, Jane loves to plan festive functions, especially when she gets to coordinate the 8e6 Band. Hired in 2003, Jane efficiently manages 8e6’s office activities, from ordering new supplies to overlooking construction and upkeep. She is the friendly voice you hear when you call 8e6 Technologies and she strives to ensure that customers reach their desired parties. In addition to her many other duties, Jane is also Human Resources Assistant, collecting time records for payroll and ensuring employees are receiving their full benefits. Busy as she is at 8e6, Jane also has part-time jobs as real-estate agent and dog-obedience amateur. But if you know Jane like we do, it wouldn’t surprise you that she gets everything done in time and then some, and always with a friendly smile on her face.
Jane’s Tip to Customers:
Please identify yourself as a customer on the phone. Everyday I receive hundreds of calls from vendors, employees, business associates, and customers, so by identifying yourself I will better be able to service your needs immediately.
