Test and qualify network security software and hardware in a multi-platform networking laboratory environment.  Design and implement software qualification requirements, procedures and test software for an integrated suite of network security products.  Work with development engineers throughout the development process.  Perform system/integration testing of products.  This position exists to ensure that all product related software is developed and thoroughly tested for quality, functionality and robustness.

Responsibilities include:
  • The development environment is Java, C/C++ and a MySQL database on the Linux server. Enhancements and design work will require experience in SQL and networking (NetBIOS, TCP/IP).    
  • Analyze requirements, design, write and execute test plans based on project specifications. Able to create data sets appropriate to the needs of the project.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of software development cycle. Ability to identify foreseeable problems and estimate a level of work effort for projects based on functional and technical specifications.
  • Act as team lead on projects in a mentoring role to QA analysts regarding process, testing methodologies, and documentation.
  • Validates bug fixes, and perform regression testing to ensure product integrity and product quality.
  • Interacts and effectively communicates in both technical and non-technical terms with developers and internal users to evaluate processes, fix problems and determine acceptance criteria.
  • Duties will sustaining engineering updates and handling support requests.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE or CS or Business (CIS) or equivalent
  • 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • Strong PC and Network skills with emphasis on problem solving, analysis, and customer service. Excellent technical knowledge and ability to train others. Excellent knowledge of company products, services, and the technical specifications for running them successfully
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven commitment to quality customer service.
  • Experience in Java, C++, C, Perl and shell script programming is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various database queries and constructs, including MySQL or similar databases.
  • Unix environment/configuration experience is a must. Familiar with Apache, Tomcat, SSH, Vi
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to prioritize multiple projects.
