Company HistoryOriginally founded in 1995 as Log-on-Data Corporation with the X-Stop filter, 8e6 Technologies is the original filtered URL lists pioneer. To this day, the ability to create effective methods of categorized URLs remains one of the company's key strengths. The company changed its name to 8e6 Technologies in late 2000, following a round of venture capital investment. Today 8e6 develops high-speed Internet Filtering and Reporting solutions for the enterprise and education markets. In particular, 8e6 is focused on meeting the unique needs of the large enterprise to secure their network from user generated Internet threats. 8e6 accomplishes this with purpose-built appliances with unmatched scalability and reliability. The company's initial focus was to provide a pornography-free Internet for children and families by offering filtering software for individual computers in the educational market, including libraries, schools, and ISP's. The business evolved to offer more tools to assist in the management of Internet access and unwanted email, across multiple platforms. The company maintains headquarters in Orange, California, and has a network of channel partners worldwide.
